Initial scores show promise

By Ginna Young

With just two golfers on the roster, because of State forensics, the Cornell-Lake Holcombe golf program was focused on senior Torren Parker and junior Bryce DeJongh, April 11, while at Pinecrest Golf Course in Dallas.

“For the first match of the season, both of them played very well, even with Torren having one hole give him trouble,” said coach Megan Bitney.

DeJongh carded the lowest score for the Knights, with a 48, while Parker had a score of 52.

“We are looking forward to our next few matches, where we can also compete as a team, as well,” said Bitney. “We feel as though we will be very competitive this year, against the other teams in the conference, after seeing initial scores on Friday.”
