Rainbow gymnasts show their skills at home in annual Spectacular
Rainbow Gymnastics of Medford hosted its annual Rainbow Spectacular meet on Saturday, March 29 at Medford Area Elementary School. In four sessions covering 14 skill levels, 203 gymnasts competed representing 12 different clubs from Wisconsin and Michigan.
Thirty-four of those 203 gymnasts were from Rainbow Gymnastics.
Outside of the home club, others represented at the meet were AMKM of Sparta, the Antigo Twisters, Bay Area of Ashland, Deutsch’s Gymnastics of Rice Lake, Hartford, Hub City of Marshfield, Iron River, Northwoods of Rhinelander, Premier Complex of Clear Lake and West End of Negaunee, Mich.
The highest finisher for the day from Rainbow Gymnastics was Ruby Holtman, who was second out of 10 competitors in Level 6. Holtman earned an all-around score of 37.6 in the four events, the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Six of the 10 Level 6 gymnasts were Rainbow representatives.
Holtman had the level’s winning score on the floor with a 9.5, took third on the bars with a 9.5, placed third on beam with a 9.35 and was fourth on the vault with a 9.25. Berkleigh Etherington of the Northwoods Club won the Level 6 individual title with 37.85 all-around points.
Rainbow’s Brooke Buechel (36.4) was fifth, Jordyn Grant (36.2) was sixth, Aurelia Brushaber (35.2) was seventh, Rylee Hartwig (34.35) was ninth and Lindsey Kauffman (33.6) was 10th. Buechel was second on the floor with a 9.45, Grant was second on the beam with a 9.4 and Buechel took third on the vault at 9.3.
Also on vault, Hartwig got a 9.2, Grant got an 8.8, Kauffman got an 8.7 and Brushaber got an 8.65. On bars, Buechel earned a 9.0, Grant an 8.8, Brushaber an 8.6 and Hartwig and Kauffman both earned 8.55s.
On the beam, Buechel’s score was 8.65, Brushaber got an 8.8, Kauffman got a 7.4 and Hartwig got a 7.35. On the floor, Hartwig had a 9.25, followed by Grant (9.2), Brushabuer (9.15) and Kauffman (8.95).
In Level 8, Rainbow’s Delaina Meyer (34.65), Raylin Rothmeier (34.35), Shayla Radlinger (33.95) and Veronica Mateer (33.9) were fourth through seventh overall. Rothmeier won the vault with a 9.3. Radlinger tied for second on the floor at 9.05, and Meyer took third on the beam at 8.65.
Meyer added fourth-place scores of 8.9 on floor and 8.6 on bars with an 8.5 on vault. Rothmeier got an 8.75 on floor along with an 8.4 on beam and a 7.9 on bars. Radlinger got an 8.6 on beam, an 8.2 on bars and an 8.1 on vault. Mateer got an 8.95 on beam, an 8.8 on floor, an 8.35 on bars and a 7.8 on vault.
In Level 4, Rainbow’s Lena Schug tied for ninth out of 17 gymnasts with an allaround score of 35.15. Miranda Potocnik (35.0) and Avery Lange (34.95) were 11th and 12th. Schug placed fourth in the bars standings at 9.05. She also got a 9.05 on floor, an 8.65 on the vault and an 8.4 on beam.
Potocnik got 8.95s on vault and floor, with an 8.8 on beam and an 8.3 bars. Lange earned a 9.15 on floor and 9.0s on vault and bars and added a 7.8 on beam.
Level 2
Scarlett Bartnik led a crew of 11 Rainbow gymnasts in Level 2. She was sixth overall out of 32 gymnasts with her all-around score of 36.95. That included a floor score of 9.4 that tied for third, a 9.3 on vault that tied for fifth, a 9.2 on bars that placed eighth and a 9.05 on beam.
Laceigh Miller was 11th overall with 36.2 all-around points. She tied for third on vault with her 9.4 and added a 9.15 on floor, a 9.0 on bars and an 8.65 on beam.

Level 3
Level 3 had the most gymnasts entered with 40 earning all-around scores from the judges. That included 10 Rainbow gymnasts.
Tinley Hamm was 11th overall with an all-around score of 36.3 that included the winning score on the uneven bars at 9.45. She also tied for seventh on vault with a 9.2 and added a 9.15 on floor and an 8.5 on beam.
Amiyah Burrier was part of a three-way tie for first place on the vault with her score of 9.35. With a 9.2 on floor, an 8.8 on bars and an 8.25 on beam, she placed 18th overall with 35.6 points.
Cheyenne Keller was right behind Hamm, taking 12th all-around (36.2). She tied for fourth on the beam at 9.25 and was ninth on bars at 9.15. She added a 9.0 on floor and an 8.8 on vault.
Myla Mallak tied for fifth on the bars with a 9.25, part of a 14th-place all-around score of 35.85. She got an 8.75 on vault, an 8.75 on beam and a 9.1 on floor.
