Chieftains can’t topple the Pirates to stay alive

Making the short trek to Gilman, Feb. 25, the Lake Holcombe girls basketball program came in as the No. 12 seed, facing off with the No. 5 Pirates, in the first round of Regionals.

Scoring wasn’t their for the Chieftains, however, with only nine points put on the board in the first half, opposed to the 39 added by Gilman. The second half, Lake Holcombe fared better, but time ran out for a comeback and the season ended with a 63-19 defeat.
