Cadott’s girls wrestling program has seen success all year, and Feb. 14, at Merrill, the squad gave their all for Regional action.
Junior Iszy Sonnentag (114 pounds) again dominated the competition, claiming the championship, after a win in the first place match over Somerset’s Maddie Simonet, by fall, in 3:07. Senior Molli York (152) also was crowned champion, when she won over Kaitlyn Madlon, of Cornell-Lake Holcombe-Gilman, by fall, in 3:36.
Placing second, was sophomore Tessa York (120), who won over Merrill’s Lauren Hoffman, in a no-contest match, as well as freshman Kaylee Stai (145). Claiming fourth place, were sophomore Kaylee Reineke (107) and senior Abigail Moss (138), who was injured in her third place match.
Not placing, were sophomore Arianna Walker (126) and sophomore Taliann Donahue (132).
Sonnentag, M. York, T. York, Stai, Reneike and Moss will now compete at the Ladysmith Sectional, Feb. 22, for the opportunity to move onto State.
