Competitors prove too much for the Hornets
By Ginna Young
Cadott’s girls basketball program was unable to come up with a win over the week, dropping both the matches played.
Feb. 4 vs. Augusta non-conference (L 84-68)
To begin, the Hornets headed to Augusta, stepping out of the conference, for a battle with the Beavers. In the end, the home team claimed victory and sent Cadott home, 84-68.
Regardless, sophomore Taylor Hager came up with 23 points on the night, followed by senior Kasey Moldrem, with 19 and junior Lilly Spaeth, with 10. Senior Tarynn Donahue followed that up with 7 points, while junior Kennedy Nerdrum had 5, and senior McKenna Steinke and sophomore Sophie Kowalczyk chipped in with 2 points each.
Feb. 6 vs. Regis conference (L 85-35)
A couple nights later, Cadott played host to Regis, but offensive woes plagued the Hornets from the onset, with them down by 40 points at the break. The scoring drought continued in the second, although the defense held Regis to just 26 points, but the game still went to the Ramblers, 85-35.
Hager again led, with 15 points, while Donahue had 8. Steinke came next, with 6, with Nerdrum right behind, with 5. Sophomore Ava Eiler rounded out the scoring, by shooting a free throw.
