Hornets grapplers place high at Nekoosa meet

By Ginna Young

It was a good day of wrestling for the Cadott girls program, Jan. 18, while in action at a tournament in Nekoosa. Although only five of the eight Hornets team members made the trek, they still came home with fourth place out of 18 teams.

“The girls did well on Saturday,” said coach Greg Sonnentag.

Bringing home second place for Cadott, was sophomore Tessa York (120 pounds), while sophomore Arianna Walker (126) took third. Senior Molli York (145), sophomore Kaylee Reineke (107) and freshman Kaylee Stai (152) all earned fourth place.

“Arianna Walker battled from behind to win her first two matches, setting her up to win her pool and secure a top three finish,” said Sonnentag.
