Chieftains dominate over the Raiders to collect win

Lake Holcombe’s girls basketball hosted Bruce, Jan. 7, in a conference bout, which gave fans a thrill in the opening half. After halftime, the Chieftains really stepped it up, to take a 45-33 win.
“In the first half, it was a barn burner, but the second half, we made some key defensive changes and held them to eight points the entire second half,” said coach Matthew Stewart.
In the home win, sophomore Payton Birkenhold ended with 16 points, while freshman Leyla Beaudin ended with 15.
“We played what I would call our best game all season,” said Stewart.
