Cadott’s girls wrestling program took two individual championships, Jan. 6, as well as claiming the overall title as a team.

“The girls had a great tournament,” said coach Greg Sonnentag. “Only five of our eight girls were able to compete, yet we scored enough team points to win the tournament.”

Taking first place in the 114-pound bracket, was junior Iszy Sonnentag, who win over Freedom’s Caitlynn Morack, by fall, in 1:09. Sophomore Tessa York (120) also took first, with her win over Addyson Allsop, of Prescott, in just 53 seconds.

Claiming third place, was senior Abigail Moss (138), who won over Cumberland’s Sara Roff, by fall, in 2:38. Senior Molli York (145) also took third, with her win over Marathon’s Ripley Skrzypchak, in a 1:58 fall.

“She battled back to third, after a quarterfinal loss and avenged that loss to take third,” said G. Sonnentag.

Taking fourth place, was sophomore Arianna Walker (126), who fell to Blaynne Crawford, of Edgar, by fall, in 2:43.

“Arianna Walker was losing, when she got a takedown and sunk a beautiful tight-half, to move on to the third place match,” said G. Sonnentag.
