Chiefs mount a comeback, but can’t hold off Flambeau
By Ginna Young
The Cornell boys basketball program was in action, Dec. 17, at home, going up against Flambeau, in an East Lakeland Conference match.
However, the Chiefs couldn’t get their offense going in the first half, down by 15 points at halftime. By the second half, they’d shaken off their woes and the baskets started falling.
Cornell nearly matched the Cardinals, but couldn’t quite pull it off, especially with the large deficit from the first half. Time ran out on a comeback and the game went to Flambeau, 56-34.
Sophomore Bryce DeJongh led for the Chiefs, with 12 points, while sophomore Eddie Woodford came next, with 6. Senior Hunter Anders and junior Carson Stipek followed that with 6 points, with senior Preston Fredrickson right behind, with 4.
