By Ginna Young

Cornell was on the road, Dec. 12, at New Auburn, for a boys basketball match-up with their East Lakeland Conference opponent. However, scoring just wasn’t there for the Chiefs and New Auburn racked up 52 points in just the first half.

Down by 41 coming out of halftime, Cornell stepped up their scoring, while tightening their defense, but time wasn’t on their side and the Trojans took the win, 90-31.

Junior Carson Stipek came away with 10 points for the Chiefs, with sophomore Bryce DeJongh right behind, with 9. Senior Preston Fredrickson added 6 points to the mix, while senior Hunter Anders had 4 and sophomore Eddie Woodford chipped in with 2 points.

The Chiefs are now 0-4 on the year, and 0-1 in league action.
