In their last remaining matches of the season, Cornell went up against some tough East Lakeland Conference foes, dropping both games.
Oct. 15 vs. New Auburn (L 3-1)
First up on the week, New Auburn came to call, jumping out to a quick first-set victory, 25-20. They repeated the win in the second set, but Cornell wasn’t going down without a fight and claimed the win, 25-14.
The Falcons held on to win in the fourth set, 25-14.
For the Chiefs, senior Briana Glaus had 14 kills and 26 digs, followed by senior Bralee Schroeder, who notched 11 kills, 13 digs and 13 assists. Sophomore Ishani Foulk came next, with 5 aces and 8 digs, while junior Kallee Dekarske added 14 assists.
Oct. 17 vs. Winter (L 3-1)
A couple days later, the Chiefs were in action on the road at Winter, where they quickly took the first set, 25-19. That would be it, though, as the Warriors earned the victory in the next three sets, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-19.
Glaus again came up big, with 10 kills, 4 aces and 17 digs, while Schroeder finished with 17 digs, 3 aces and 18 assists, and senior Alyssa Bowe chipped in with 8 kills and 16 digs.
