Neubauer advances to All-American tournament with 6th-place regional finish
Medford High School senior Grant Neubauer has more than graduation to look forward to next spring.
Last weekend, Neubauer took sixth place in the Major League Fishing (MLF) regional championship to qualify for the All American tournament to be held at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas May 29-31, 2025.
Neubauer had earned his berth in regional tournament by being among the top 45 in the Great Lakes Division. The BFL Regional tournament was held on Pools 13-17 of the Mississippi River in Quad Cities, Ill. on Oct. 10-12.
The top six from the regional advance to the All American tournament next spring in Arkansas.
Neubauer came out strong on the first day sitting 14th out of around 150 boats. He jumped up seven spots on the second day to sit at 7th place and make the cut to compete in the championship round on Sunday. At the end of the day, he ended up improving to 6th place and qualifying for a spot on the All American.
“I am lost for words on how blessed this week has been. I have met so many amazing people and supporters it’s unimaginable,” Neubauer stated in a social media post about the tournament result. He expressed thanks for all his family and friends and those who helped support him.
“The support has been overwhelming, and I’m very grateful for it,” he said. “This stuff comes when you least expect it that’s for sure! Honestly just itching to get prepracticing for this All American. I’ve got a lot to work on and improve on before this tournament, but super excited for the opportunity.”
