Stratford runners third at Athens meet

Both the Stratford varsity boys and girls cross country teams took third place at Thursday’s meet at Erbach Park in Athens. Rib Lake/Prentice won the boys meet championship and Phillips won the girls meet title. The Marathon boys placed fourth and the girls finished eighth. Athens didn’t have complete boys and girls teams.
Stratford senior Cree DeFoe took third place in 16 minutes, 41.9 seconds at the Athens meet. Marathon sophomore Logan Peters placed fifth in 16:50.2. Stratford senior Ethan Heeg placed eighth in 17:22 and Marathon sophomore Brady Annis was ninth in 17:22.2.
Athens freshman Ben Hartwig took 15th place in
17:50.4. Stratford sophomore Christopher Stuttgen placed 20th in 18:05 and freshman Jayden DeFoe was
27th in 18:22.8. Marathon junior Gavin Matthiae took
31st place in 18:30.3, Stratford junior Cooper Bosmans was 32nd in 18:34.7 and Marathon sophomore Matthew Kindlarski was 33rd in 18:34.7.
Marathon junior John Kahon placed 38th in 18:48.3. Stratford senior Derek Wiese placed 39th in 18:49.3 and his freshman teammate, Joey Cable, was 40th in 18:52.6. Stratford freshman Henry Heeg placed 43rd in 18:58.7. Marathon freshman Brevyn Johnson took 52nd place in
19:10.3 and his junior teammate, Ethan Huebsch, was
53rd in 19:12.1.
Stratford junior Calvin Rasmussen took 58th place in
19:21.1 and his freshman teammate, Theodore Hiebl, was
61st in 19:25.8. Marathon junior Brayden Pintor placed
66th in 19:52.5 and Athens junior Eli Paul was 69th in
20:09.2.
Stratford’s boys cross country team is ranked No. 6 in Division 3 in this week’s Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches poll. The Marathon boys are ranked No. 7.
Tigers senior Kayla Casperson took third place in the Athens meet girls race in 19:51.3. Marathon senior Shilo Blake placed sixth in 20:02.7 and Athens senior Brianna Sheahan was seventh in 20:16.4. Stratford senior Breleigh Skaya took 14th place in 21:05.1 and Athens sophomore Ellis Baer was 16th in 21:14.5.
Stratford senior Samantha Mielke placed 24th in 21.58 and her junior teammate, Kaylie McHugh, was 36th in
22:47.1. Marathon sophomore Aubrey Fieri placed 40th in 23:04.1 and Stratford junior Lilly Dabbert was 52nd in
23:54.2. Marathon junior Mya Yach placed 57th in
24:55.3 and her senior teammate, Jayden Henrichs, was
60th in 25:05. Athens senior Aleah Frahm took 68th place in 25:43.8. Stratford junior Hayden Fecker placed 69th in
25:44.9 and her junior teammate, McKayla Stueber, was
70th in 25:46.1.
