Hornets split their games

Cadott’s volleyball program was in action at home, hosting two strong teams, splitting the matches.

Sept. 3 vs. Osseo-Fairchild (W 3-0)

In the first game of the week, Osseo-Fairchild came to call, but Cadott was ready, taking the first set, 25-10. The next two sets were closer, 25-16 and 25-18, but the Hornets held on for the shutout win.

Junior Haley Mathison led, with 13 kills, 4 aces, 8 digs and 3 blocks, followed by senior Kasey Moldrem, with 6 kills and 2 aces, while senior Tarynn Donahue had 15 assists.

Sept. 5 vs. Elk Mound (L 0-3)

Next up, was Elk Mound, who proved a much tougher opponent, despite Cadott keeping the matches close and throwing a scare into the Mounders. At the end, the night saw the Hornets dropping the sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

Mathison almost reached double digits in kills, with 9, and had 14 digs and 3 aces. Senior Rilei Weeks finished with 12 digs and 2 aces, with junior Karlee Davis notching 15 assists, 3 aces and 7 digs.
