ALL-STAR FOOTBALL

The next round of all-star appearances by 2024 Taylor County graduates continues this weekend at the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Charity Football Games benefiting Children’s Wisconsin.

Gilman’s Troy Duellman will play for the North team in the Eight-Player All-Star Game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday night at UW-Oshkosh’s Titan Stadium, then Medford’s Max Dietzman will play for the North in the 11-player Large Schools All-Star Game Saturday at 4 p.m.

The eight-man game will be livestreamed by Zaleski Sports. The 11player Small School and Large School games will be televised live on Bally Sports Wisconsin and streamed on the Bally Sports app starting at noon.

The Large Schools game includes the state’s top 2024 graduates from teams in Divisions 1-3. Dietzman is a defensive lineman for the North team. The UWRiver Falls commit was a two-way selection to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association’s Large School All-Region 1 team last fall and a two-way firstteam selection in the Great Northern Conference. Dietzman was Medford’s leader in tackles for loss with 16 during the Raiders’ 8-3 season, which included a 6-1 mark in the GNC. He led the Raiders with 6.5 quarterback sacks from his defensive tackle position and was credited with 37 total tackles, including 23 solo stops.

He is the lone GNC representative on the North team. Bill Jacklin of Slinger is the North’s 2024 head coach. He is assisted by Aaron Pokrzywa of Slinger, Jake Davis of Germantown, Brian Leair of Cedarburg, Jason Pittmann of Kewaskum, Ryan Eigenberger and Matt Hawley of Stevens Point and Chris Lucas of Antigo.

Duellman is listed as a linebacker on the North’s eight-player squad. He was a two-way first-team selection in the Central Wisconsin East Conference as a linebacker and running back and was a first-team All-Region and All-State selection at linebacker. He was the leader of a Gilman team that went 9-1 in 2023, including a 50 mark in the conference. Duellman had 114 total tackles in 10 games, including five quarterback sacks.

Thorp’s Keldric “KD” Stokes is the North’s head coach. Ryan Karsten of Siren, Paul Michlig of Newman Catholic, Jimmey Lane of Thorp and Albert Goerlitz of Owen-Withee round out the coaching staff. Area players on the North roster include Colin Dallman and Ryan Nelson of Owen-Withee and Logan Hanson, Dorian Neisus and Denzel Sutton of Thorp.

The games are an annual fundraising effort for Children’s Wisconsin that has raised more than $5 million since its inception. This year, players and coaches from the six teams have raised more than $386,000 as part of their commitments to play in the All-Star games.
