Hrabys earn player, coach spots as Legion All-Stars
Just after competing in back-to-back Wisconsin basketball and baseball coaches association events, Medford’s Tanner Hraby has added one more All-Star spot before he heads to college in the fall.
Hraby has been named to the Stars team for the Wisconsin American Legion Baseball All-Star Game, which will be played Sunday, Aug. 11 at American Family Field following the Milwaukee Brewers’ 1:10 p.m. game with the Cincinnati Reds.
Hraby will represent Medford’s Post 147 Senior Legion team along with his dad and head coach Justin Hraby. He is one of three coaches on the Stars’ staff. He joins Eric Hunter of Green Bay Southwest and Steven Warren of Marathon.
Coach Hraby has guided Post 147 to American Legion Wisconsin state tournament play in Class AA in 2021 and 2023 and the program also made it to state in Class A in 2018 and 2019.
Tanner Hraby is a pitcher and infielder for Medford’s program for the fourth straight summer. In the 2024 high school season, he was a first-team All-Great Northern Conference pick, the co-Division 2 Player of the Year and an honorable mention All-State pick by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association and a firstteam All-State choice by Wisconsin Prep Baseball Report.
The Stars team includes players from all around the state with some of the nearby representatives being Dylan Dobratz of Wausau, Grant Warren of Marathon, Kaleb Ellis and Canon Plawman of Wisconsin Rapids, Nate Langbehn of D.C. Everest, Preston Alger of Chippewa Falls and Mason Gray of Antigo.
They will face the Stripes team, which will be coached by Ryan Bishop of River Falls, who is a Gilman native.
