Marathon’s American Legion Post 466 baseball team now has a 10-1-2 record this summer.

Post 469 beat Edgar, 6-4, on Thursday at home. Tyler Underwood earned the pitching win. Cale Quaintance doubled and Swayne Stencil batted two for three in the victory.

Marathon split a road doubleheader against Rib Lake on Monday. Post 469 won the first game, 6-2, as Grant Warren earned the pitching victory. Cooper Hoeksema batted two for four with a triple and True Thurs was two for two with a triple. Cody Radtke also hit two for four in the win. Evan DeBroux collected a pair of RBIs.

Post 469 lost the nightcap, 4-1, as Radtke suffered the pitching defeat on the mound. Quillan Kunkel hit two for three in the loss.

Marathon returns to action at 6 p.m. this Thursday, June 27, with a road doubleheader against the Medford Junior Legion. Post 469 plays a home doubleheader at 6 p.m. this Friday, June 28, against Everest Junior Legion. Marathon also plays a home doubleheader at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 1, against the Stratford Legion.

Stratford’s American Legion baseball team now has a 4-2 record following Tuesday’s 5-1 home loss against the Pittsville Legion.

The Stratford Legion beat the Medford Legion, 3-1, on Thursday. Brady Schmidt earned the pitching win in relief of starter Henry Zaleski. Centerfielder Alec Chapel had an RBI. Colton Haupt and Zaleski collected two hits each.

Stratford Legion returns to action with a home game at 5 p.m. this Thursday, June 27, against Edgar. Stratford then travels to Marathon Post 469 on Monday, July 1, for a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.

Marathon alumni baseball game

The home team beat the visiting squad, 5-3, in the Marathon alumni baseball game on May 5. Tyler Hamann was the winning pitcher. He only surrendered six hits in eight innings on the mound. Hamann batted a perfect four for four in the victory. Andy Starzinski collected a pair of RBIs. Jaden Koeller doubled. Tim Deininger hit two for four and Jake Sweno was two for five in the alumni game.
