Marathon senior pitcher/second baseman/ shortstop Tyler Underwood was awarded Marawood South Conference Player of the Year. He led the Red Raiders with an impressive 8-0 record with 74 strikeouts and a low 1.92 ERA (earned run average) on the mound this season. Underwood also paced Marathon with a .415 batting average and .551 onbase percentage in 82 plate appearances this spring.

The Red Raiders and Stratford Tigers were co-champions of the Marawood South Conference with 7-1 records this season. Steve Warren of Marathon and Marshall Lehman of Stratford were awarded Marawood South Conference Coaches of the Year this spring.

Underwood and his senior teammate, pitcher and first baseman Grant Warren, are unanimous first team Marawood South Conference selections for the third straight season. Grant Warren had a .403 batting average and .526 on-base percentage. He also had a 4-0 record with a 2.01 ERA on the mound.

Underwood and Warren both also received honorable mention in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association (WBCA) North Central district. Warren made the WBCA academic all district team.

Marathon sophomore pitcher/second baseman/shortstop Blake Underwood was a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference player this season. He had a 5-1 record with 41 strikeouts and a 2.40 ERA on the mound this spring. Blake Underwood also had a .333 batting average and .426 onbase percentage this year.

Stratford junior second baseman Jack Tubbs is a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference player for each of his first three high school seasons. He had a .342 batting average and .463 on-base percentage this spring. Tigers senior pitcher Brady Schmidt is a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference player for the second straight season. He had a 7-1 record with 55 strikeouts and a low 0.71 ERA.

awarded WBCA academic all-state this season. Zaleski was a second team Marawood South Conference player this season after being a unanimous first team all-conference selection last year. He had a .313 batting average and .495 on-base percentage this season. Zaleski also had a 4-2 record with 45 strikeouts and a 1.58 ERA on the mound this spring.

The criteria for being awarded WBCA academic all-state is that a player needs to be a junior or senior, receive first or second team all-conference, the coach must be a WBCA member and the player must have a 4.0 GPA.

Stratford sophomore catcher Brady Berg is a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference player for the first time this season. He had a .424 batting average and .559 on-base percentage this spring.

Edgar junior pitcher/third baseman/shortstop Jase Apfelbeck is a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference player for the second straight season. He had a .364 batting average and .467 on-base-percentage this spring. Wildcats junior pitcher/centerfielder/ shortstop Leyton Schuett is a unanimous first team Marawood South Conference selection for the first time this season. He had a .446 batting average and .489 on-base percentage this spring. Both Apfelbeck and Schuett received honorable mention in the WBCA’s North Central district this season.

Wildcats junior pitcher and rightfielder Dakota Ellenbecker and sophomore catcher/ pitcher/third baseman Lucas Stahnke were awarded second team Marawood South Conference this spring. Ellenbecker had a .358 batting average and .488 on-base percentage this season. Stahnke had a .419 batting average an .489 on-base percentage.

Marathon sophomore catcher True Thurs and sophomore pitcher/rightfielder Cale Quaintance made second team Marawood South Conference this season. Thurs had a .338 batting average and .457 on-base percentage this spring. Quaintance had a .378 batting average and .457 on-base percentage.

Stratford junior pitcher/third baseman Vance Kielman and sophomore shortstop Riley Spindler joined Zaleski as second team Marawood South Conference selections this season. Kielman had a .228 batting average and .330 on-base percentage this spring. Spindler had a .319 batting average and .495 on-base percentage.

Tigers senior pitcher/catcher/rightfielder Landon Zawislan received honorable mention Marawood South Conference this spring. He was also awarded academic all district for the WBCA’s North Central district. He had a .276 batting average and .427 on-base percentage.

Edgar senior left fielder Brett Baumgartner and senior pitcher/third baseman Marcus Huehnerfuss both received honorable mention Marawood South Conference this season. Baumgartner had a .343 batting average and .408 on-base percentage this year. Huehnerfuss had a .344 batting average and .476 on-base percentage.

Radtke made honorable mention Marawood South Conference this spring. Hoeksema had a .302 batting average and .436 on-base percentage this year. Radtke had a .243 batting average and .329 on-base percentage.

Marawood North accolades

Athens freshman pitcher and centerfielder Daxton Diethelm was awarded first team Marawood North Conference this season. He had a .513 batting average and .604 on-base percentage.

Bluejays senior Hunter Haehlke and junior Nick Pittman made second team Marawood North Conference this spring. Haehlke had a .275 batting average and .396 on-base percentage. Pittman had a 4-3 record with 43 strikeouts and a 4.99 ERA on the mound. He had a .243 batting average and .417 on-base percentage.

Athens junior Kaden Auner and sophomore Kamden Zarnke received honorable mention Marawood North Conference this season. Auner had a .262 batting average and .354 on-base percentage. Zarnke had a .238 batting average and .347 on-base percentage this year.
