As the lone competitor, junior Torren Parker was at Unity, May 28, for his Cornell-Lake Holcombe team, as part of the Division 3 Sectional.
Playing in the first threesome to tee off, Parker started with a bogey 4 on the par 3, 175 yard first hole, and went on to card a 48 and a 49. When the 18 holes were complete, Parker had a score of 97, a season best, but not enough to send him on to State.
In the final three weeks of the season, the Knights’ coaches saw an upward trend, which, in turn, was noticed by other teams.
“Golf is a great game, player vs. ball, and in a golf match event, it is on each player, playing to their individual best, making up a four-player team score,” said assistant coach Dwayne Mosley. “The guys won more ways than they may realize; so proud of them and what they have in front of them in 2025.”
