LG softball ends season
The Loyal-Greenwood (LG) softball team’s season came to an end last Wednesday when the girls lost to Edgar in the WIAA Division 4 Regionals. The LG girls traveled to Edgar to take on the Wildcats.
Both teams held each other scoreless for the first two innings, but in the third inning Edgar broke through, picking up a whopping eight runs. Although LG prevented Edgar from crossing home plate for the remainder of the game, LG also failed to score. That left Edgar to pick up the 8-0 win.
Edgar had eight hits and eight runs, while LG had two hits. Madelyn Suda pitched two and a third innings for LG, striking out three and allowing five runs on three hits. Neela Baehr pitched two innings, striking out two and allowing three runs on five hits. Karsyn Penk pitched one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
Tysen Lindner and Liv Lucas each appeared at bat thrice and got a hit for LG.
Both teams committed one error. The LG girls finished the season with a 7-5 record in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference and a 9-10 record overall.
