Adalyn Dittrich bounced to the top of the list of Medford’s point scorers Thursday, leading the Raiders to second place in their regular-season finale, their annual junior varsity track and field meet at Raider Field.
Dittrich won the 300-meter hurdles, took second in the 100-meter high hurdles and was fourth in the pole vault competition to score 22 of Medford’s 114 points in the girls’ side of the meet. The Raiders scored 86 points in the boys meet and were second there as well.
Marathon won the girls meet with 117 points and Lakeland won the boys meet with 140.
Dittrich’s win in the 300-meter hurdles was achieved with a time of 58.89 seconds that put her 1.29 seconds ahead of runnerup Emily Zuelke of Stratford. Earlier in the meet, Dittrich ran the 100-meter highs in 20.3 seconds to just miss first, 0.04 seconds behind Stratford’s Breleigh Shanks.
In the pole vault, Dittrich set a new personal-best by clearing 7 feet, 6 inches. Elizabeth Arnott of Tomahawk won at 8 feet. Dittrich was among three vaulters to clear 7-6.
Several of Medford’s varsity athletes got some quick work in by competing in the 100-meter dash. Avery Losiewicz (13.54), Rivalee Stokes (13.76), Jaylin Machon (13.88) and Brenley Beran (14.01) took the top four spots, while Lindsey Klapatauskas was seventh at 14.33 seconds.
Toryn Rau won the 400-meter dash in 1:08.69, 1.6 seconds ahead of Marathon’s Giulia Gandolfi, while Raiders Addison Juedes (1:10.42) and Autumn Cooley (1:10.86) were fourth and fifth.
Juedes and Cooley scored 12 points in the high jump with Juedes clearing a new best height of 4-2 to take second and Cooley hitting 4 feet to take fourth.
Aliyah Pilgrim got in one last 200-meter dash before the post-season and won it in 28.39 seconds, 0.98 seconds ahead of Stratford’s Carley Ehrike. Carly Koski was fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:53.34, her best time of the spring.
Also on the track, Medford’s 400-meter relay team of Ellie Eckert, Cooley, Bridget Wesle and Rachel Wesle was third out of six teams in 59.81 seconds. Marathon (56.22) and Tomahawk (58.59) were ahead of Medford.
In the field, Klapatauskas took second in the long jump at 14-7.5, 6 inches behind winner Ali Anna Bohman of Stratford and 5.75 inches ahead of third-place Summer Smith of Lakeland. Beran got the sixthplace point at 13-5. Bridget Wesle scored in three events, taking fourth in the discus at 75-6, while Rachel Wesle was sixth at 71-2, fourth in the triple jump at 21-9 and sixth in the shot put at 24-10.5.
Rachel Wesle (31.49) and Juedes (31.73) were 12th and 13th in the 200-meter dash and Eckert was 14th in the long jump (11-7.25) and 15th in the 100-meter dash (15.19).
Stratford (106), Tomahawk (75), Northland Pines (35) and Lakeland (22) rounded out the girls team scores.
Cory Lindahl and Hudson Briggs were Medford’s individual winners in the boys meet, while the team of Evan Pagel, Anthony Seidel, Peyton Ried and Cade Wellman won the 800-meter relay. That relay team won convincingly in 1:44.43, 2.21 seconds ahead of Lakeland.
Lindahl took the 100-meter dash in 11.84 seconds, 0.15 seconds ahead of teammate Paxton Rothmeier. Wellman (12.68) and Caleb Scoles (12.73) were ninth and 10th.
Briggs scored 18 points by winning the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in a season-best 47.88 seconds, beating Ried (50.35), and by taking second in the 110-meter high hurdles in 18.55 seconds. He was 0.69 seconds behind Stratford’s Mason Miller.
Jordan Lavin cleared 9-6 to take second in the pole vault and he was ninth in the 200-meter dash (26.15). Thirds went to Scoles in the 200 (24.59), Pagel in the 800 (personal-best 2:20.85) and the 400-meter relay team of Ryker Hallam, Logan Gubser, Isaac Kautzer and Evan Paul (51.12). They trailed Lakeland (49.46) and Marathon (49.77).
Seidel was fourth in the 400-meter dash at 59.83 seconds, while Raider Jason Scott was seventh while lowering his time to 1:00.61. Hunter Briggs (5:41.38) and Silas Briggs (6:08.98) had their best times while taking seventh and 11th in the 1,600-meter run.
William Bartnik was one spot from scoring in the discus, taking seventh at 88-7, tying his season-best. Rothmeier was seventh in the shot put at 31-9.5, while Logan Langdon (30-6) and Bartnik (30-2) were 11th and 12th.
Nevyn Gripentrog was 10th in the 800-meter run (2:35.93) and 10th in the long jump (13-5.75). Silas Briggs was 13th in the 800 at 2:59.85 and Hallam was 13th in the long jump, improving to 10-4.5. Scott (13.23) and Langdon (14.06) were 14th and 20th in the 100, while Wellman (27.27) and Scott (27.42) were 20th and 22nd in the 200.
Northland Pines (83), Stratford (55), Tomahawk (50) and Marathon (42) filled out the boys team scores.
