RAINBOW GYMNASTICS CLUB - Rainbow’s Burrier, Foster win their groupings at AAU state gymnastics

Eleven members of Medford’s Rainbow Gymnastics Club competed in this past weekend’s state AAU championships in Onalaska with two of them winning the all-around title in their skill and age level groupings.
Amiyah Burrier was one of those champions, outscoring four other gymnasts to win the Level 2 11-12 age group. Burrier earned 36.025 all-around points in her four events and won the title comfortably over runner-up Adriana Stetzer-Lemke of AMKM Gymnastics, who totaled 35.65 points.
Burrier won the vault with a 9.15, placed second on the uneven bars at 8.825, took third on the floor exercise with her 8.825 and was fourth on the beam at 9.225.
Rainbow had four Level 2 entrants overall and placed sixth out of nine clubs in the team scoring for the level. Rainbow’s team score of 107.275 beat Hub City of Marshfield (106.5), Northwoods of Rhinelander (102.65) and Wildcard (94.575) of Brookfield. CSA Kids of Janesville won it with 111.1 points, followed by Hartford (110.975), AMKM of Rockland (110.4), Turners Gymnastics of Madison (108.725) and Gymlingo Academy of Oconomowoc (108.425).
Zarianna De La Cruz was third out of 10 gymnasts in the Level 2 age 10 group with an all-around total of 35.95. She was 0.6 points away from first.
De La Cruz won the vault title with a score of 9.225, was fourth on bars at 9.0, took sixth on beam at 8.9 and was sixth on floor at 8.825.
In the Level 2 8B age group, Rainbow’s Veda Ellenbecker was fifth with an allaround total of 35.3 points and Madison Baird was 14th at 32.775. Ellenbecker was second on vault at 9.25, just behind Gymlingo’s Kailey Berlinski (9.475), and third on the balance beam at 8.9 behind two CSA Kids entrants. Ellenbecker was 10th on floor and 11th on bars with 8.575s. Baird was 13th on floor with an 8.35, 13th on vault at 8.175, 14th on beam at 8.25 and 14th on bars at 8.0.
Adalynn Foster was the overall champion out of six gymnasts in the Level 4 1214 age group. She totaled 35.65 all-around points to outscore runner-up Izzy Herring of Tumble Tyme of Beaver Dam (34.975). Foster won the vault and beam with her 9.2s and took the floor title with her 9.175. She was third on the bars 8.075.
Aurelia Brushaber was fourth out of seven gymnasts in the Level 4 age 10-11 group. She earned 34.25 all-around points during the competition, including a second-place score of 8.65 on the floor, onetenth behind Keeley O’Meara of the CSA Kids. Brushaber was third on beam (9.0) and vault (8.65) and fifth on bars (7.95).
Tinley Hamm and Miranda Potocnik were Rainbow’s Level 3 entrants.
Hamm placed fifth out of 11 girls in the 10A age group by earning 34.55 all-around points. Hamm was fifth on vault (9.0) and floor (8.775), sixth on beam (8.9) and eighth on bars (7.875). Potocnik finished sixth out of eight entrants in the 9A age group. Her all-around total of 33.8 included a fourth on floor (8.6), a sixth on vault (8.7), a sixth on bars (8.15) and a seventh on beam (8.35).
Veronica Mateer was second behind Tumble Tyme’s Brianna Meyer in Level 8 competition with 31.85 all-around points. Meyer had 34.275. Mateer earned an 8.95 on beam, an 8.55 on floor, a 7.9 on vault and a 6.45 on bars.
Kyla Krause was fourth in open optional competition with 33.2 all-around points. She won the group’s balance beam title with a score of 9.175, took third on the vault (8.55) and was fourth on floor (8.7) and bars (6.775).
In the Xcel Gold 11B age group, Lillian Nemitz-Coleman was sixth out of eight girls, scoring 33.475 points in her events. Nemitz-Coleman was third on the vault with her score of 8.725, sixth on beam (8.325), seventh on floor (8.4) and seventh on bars (8.025).
