Raiders, Redmen to start softball seasons at Danny Mac Classic

The Medford Raiders and Rib Lake Lady Redmen will open their 2024 softball seasons this weekend at the Danny Mac Classic, a four-day event hosted by Rhinelander inside the comforts of the Hodag Dome.

The event features 24 total teams who are divided into three, eight-team brackets.

Medford will play in the late Thursday/ early Friday bracket, while Rib Lake is in the late Saturday/early Sunday bracket. The third bracket plays late Friday/early Saturday.

The schedule for Medford’s bracket is as follows: Marshfield vs. Lakeland on field one, Thursday at 6:30 p.m.; Rice Lake vs. Auburndale on field two, Thursday at 6:30 p.m.; Hayward vs. New London on field two, Thursday at 8:30 p.m.; Medford vs. Shawano on field one, Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Losers games one and two on field one, Friday at 8:30 a.m.; losers games three and four on field two, Friday at 8:30 a.m.; winners games one and two on field one, Friday at 10:15 a.m.; winners games three and four on field two, Friday at 10:15 a.m; seventh-place game on field two, Friday at noon; fifth-place game on field one, Friday at noon; championship on field one, Friday at 1:45 p.m.; third-place game on field two, Friday at 1:45 p.m.

The schedule for Rib Lake’s bracket is as follows: Rib Lake vs. Spencer on field one, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; Goodman-Pembine vs. Mellen on field two, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; Drummond vs. Shiocton on field two, Saturday at 5:15 p.m.; Boyceville vs. Flambeau on field one, Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

Losers games one and two on field one, Saturday at 7 p.m.; losers games three and four on field two, Saturday at 7 p.m.; winners games one and two on field one, Saturday at 8:45 p.m.; winners games three and four on field two, Saturday at 8:45 p.m; seventh-place game on field two, Sunday at 9 a.m.; fifth-place game on field one, Sunday at 9 a.m.; championship on field one, Sunday at 11 a.m.; third-place game on field two, Sunday at 11 a.m.
