RAINBOW GYMNASTICS CLUB
The Rainbow Gymnastics Club of Medford jumped into 2024 by competing in the Hub City Gymnastics Club of Marshfield’s meet on Sunday, Jan. 14.
Most of Rainbow’s entrants were in Levels 2 and 3 but there were enough competitors to create scoring teams in Levels 4 and 6 as well.
The Level 2 team score of 107.2 but Rainbow in second place, just behind Hub City’s total of 111.2.
In section 2B, Veda Ellenbecker was the all-around champion with 35.15 total points, while Madison Baird was ninth with 33.3. In section 2C, Grace Ziembo was sixth overall (35.55), Zarianna De La Cruz was eighth (35.4), Camren Frahmann was ninth (35.35), Annabell Bacholl was 10th (34.9) and Amiyah Burrier was 12th (33.85).
The Level 3 team score of 102.25 put Rainbow in third place behind Team UP (111.4) and Hub City (108.15). In section 3A, Miranda Potocnik was seventh with 32.9 all-around points and Myla Mallak was ninth with 32.35. Lena Schug was fifth in section 3B with an all-around total of 34.8, while Tinley Hamm was seventh at 33.6. Amelia Ranum was ninth in section 3C, compiling an all-around total of 30.7.
Three gymnasts teamed up to post a score of 101.75 to put Rainbow second behind Hub City (104.7) in Level 4. There were seven gymnasts in the level and Aurelia Brushaber was second with her total of 35.05, Adalynn Foster was third at 34.4 points and Kree Doriot was seventh at 32.3.
Ruby Holtman won the Level 5 individual championship, beating three others with an all-around score of 33.75. Rainbow’s Mackinley Mueller was third with 32.05 points in the judging.
Hub City won the Level 6 team title with 103.3 points, beating the Phoenix Club of Bloomer (100.05) and Rainbow (94.8). Brooke Buechel led the Rainbow crew by tying for fifth in the all-around standings with 33.65 points. Jordyn Grant was eighth with 31.65 and Rylee Hartwig was ninth with 29.5.
Lillian Nemitz Coleman competed in the Xcel Gold division and some of her scores included an 8.5 on the vault, a 7.4 on the balance beam and a 7.2 on the uneven bars.
