Cadott falls to nearby rivals

Cadott’s boys basketball program took on two tough conference opponents, over the week, dropping both matches.
Dec. 12 vs. Thorp conference (L 62-44)
First up, was Thorp, with Cadott acting as host to the Cardinals. Offense was a dismal affair for the Hornets in the first half, with only 10 points added to the scorebook, but after the break, they kicked it into high gear.
Cadott racked up 34 points in the second half, but Thorp continued to score and with their lead before halftime, the game went to the visitors, 62-44.
Senior Nolan Blum led for Cadott, with 13 points, followed by junior Braden Schneider, with 11, while senior Brodee Burish came away with 6 points and a whopping 18 rebounds. Juniors Nolan Freed and Jackson Barone each added 4 points, with junior Cameron Allard contributing 3.
Junior Parker Davis chipped in with 2 points for the Hornets and senior Eli Burich rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
Dec. 15 vs. Stanley-Boyd conference (L 79-54)
Cadott traveled to Stanley-Boyd for the final game of the week, with the first half going much better this time around. The Hornets were only down by four points at the break, but the Orioles came raging out of halftime to outscore Cadott by 21 points.
The Hornets couldn’t overcome the large lead and watched the game go to Stanley-Boyd, 79-54.
Schneider led for Cadott, with 17 points, with Blum finishing with 10. Burich, Davis and junior Blane Mengel all added 3 points, while Allard shot and completed a free throw.
