Standout swims from the home meet against Lakeland include a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle by sophomore Megan DeWitt. Later in the meet, DeWitt also took first in the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 6:34.84.
Just two days later, at the Superior Relays, DeWitt was again swimming these events and improved her times in both. Junior Hannah Minton set a new personal best, with a first place finish in the 100yard freestyle, with a time of 1:00.39.
Senior Madilyn Kempen swam a 1:08.15, 100-yard butterfly, to take first over Lakeland’s Saylor Timmerman, while junior Sarah Allard claimed first in the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 1:18.07.
“Overall, we had a good night, and I was really happy with how the girls swam,” said coach Matt Bunton. “We continue to work on technique and that’s starting to pay dividends, which is great to see.”
