Abbotsford to hold two basketball camps in July for students
Abbotsford is hosting a number of basketball camps for elementary through high school students in July.
The Future Falcons youth basketball camp is to take place over three days, July 11, 12, and 13. The camp is co-ed and will be broken into two sections, with the first section for students heading into grades 1-5 taking place between 1 and 3 p.m. and the second section designated for students heading into grades 6-8 taking place 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The camp will be headed by Abbotsford coaches and Falcons high school student athletes. It will focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game and developing skills through various drills.
Attendees will be required to bring their own water bottle, clean gym shoes, and athletic attire.
The Future Falcons basketball camp is free of charge.
On July 24, Abbotsford will host a session of Brian Butch Basketball Camp. Former Wisconsin Badgers basketball player Brian Butch and current St. Norbert assistant basketball coach Logan Flora have teamed up with Abbotsford’s basketball program to offer a camp that will focus on building dribbling, passing and shooting skills. There will be opportunities for small group and individual instruction.
From 8:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m., a session focused on competitive shooting for students entering grades 9-12 will take place. Following will be a youth skills camp for students entering grades 4-8, which will take place between 12 and 3 p.m. Both the competitive shooting and youth skills camps will cost $40.
