Students visit career fair at Clark Electric
More than 400 middle and high school students from around Clark County attended the “Empowering Partnerships” business expo and career fair put on by the Clark County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and Tourism Bureau May 3 at Clark Electric Cooperative just west of Greenwood. Close to 70 businesses were represented and students from Colby, Loyal, Owen-Withee, Greenwood, Stanley-Boyd and Neillsville schools attended. The event was not only for students to get a sampling of future careers they might enjoy, but also to provide business leaders the chance to network with other business and learn about services to help their businesses grow. “I saw lots of good interactions happening. I want students to see everything that goes into making a business successful,” said Sheila Nyberg, CCEDC executive director. Based on the lively conversations and the smiles on faces, it seemed the event proved beneficial for the many attendees.
