Greenwood and Granton track and field teams compete at Auburndale
The Granton and Greenwood track and field teams competed at the April 28 track invitational in Auburndale. Both teams had numerous athletes compete, but only a few individuals from both teams managed to crack the top eight to score points.
The Indians had four individuals place in the top eight, with two athletes taking placings in two events. Renaya Horvath took first place in both the shot put wheelchair (10’10”) and in the 100m dash wheelchair events (32.14). Christian Thomas took third in the 110m hurdles (18.85) and sixth in the 300m hurdles (47.28). Taking sixth place was Katlund Etlicher, who ran a 16:02.57 in the 3200m run, and Sarah Reiff placed eighth in the 400m dash with her time of 1:09.96.

The Bulldogs had three individuals place in the top eight. Anna Kayhart took placings in two events, finishing in seventh place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.95, and taking eighth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 57.01. Alex Gardner took fifth place overall in the 400m dash, completing the race in 55.15 and Lizzy Reinart tied for eighth place in the high jump with a leap of 4’6”.

The Bulldogs also had one relay team compete at Auburndale. The girls 4x100m relay was completed by Jordan Berg, Anna Kayhart, Maya McConkey and Faustina Thomas in 59.53 to take ninth.
The Greenwood team scored four points in the women’s events to take 12th place and the Granton girls earned 3.5 points to place 13th. Also competing were Newman Catholic (106), Loyal (104), Medford Area (87), Assumption (83), Stratford (75), Abbotsford (73.5), Three Lakes (48.5), Neillsville (48), Owen-Withee (29), Auburndale (17.5) and Columbus Catholic (8). The Greenwood women’s wheelchair team took first place with 20 points and was the only team to score points in those events.
In the men’s events, Greenwood took 12th again with nine points and Granton placed 13th with four points. Placings for other teams at the invite were Medford Area (126.5), Stratford (116.5), Newman Catholic (78.5), Neillsville (70.5), Auburndale (51), Owen-Withee (48.5), Abbotsford (46.5), Loyal (42), Assumption (37), Columbus Catholic (29) and Three Lakes (26).
