Granton competes at Gilman

As the outdoor track and field season gets underway, Granton High School athletes traveled to Gilman for a meet last Thursday. Four Granton athletes scored within the top eight for their respective events to earn points for their team: Lizzy Reinart, Anna Kayhart, Faustina Thomas and Alex Gardner. Results were as follows.

Girls’ results (listed by event) High jump — Reinart, 3rd, 4’6” Triple jump — Kayhart, 7th, 27’10”; Thomas, 8th, 27’8”; Alexis Pongratz, 14th,

24’2”.

100m hurdles — Kayhart, 9th, 19.66.

300m hurdles — Kayhart, 8th, 59.47; Reinart, 11th, 1:06.46.

100m dash — Maya McConkey, 19th,

15.56; Jordan Berg, 21st, 15.70; Kennedy Young, 26th, 16.64; Emma Woller, 32nd,

17.71.

200m dash — McConkey, 17th, 33.71; Berg, 20th, 33.98; Young, 23rd, 35.73.

400m dash — Pongratz, 10th, 1:19.56. Long jump — Thomas, 14th, 13’4.5”, Kayhart, 17th, 13’; McConkey, 28th,

11’11.25”; Berg, 30th, 11’1.75”.

Discus — Tori Seif, 21st, 54’7”; Abby Woller, 22nd, 54’1”; Emma Woller, 28th,

33’7”.

Shot put — Seif, 20th, 21’5.75”; Abby Woller, 27th, 20’2”; Emma Woller, 29th,

19’11.5”; Young, 35th, 14’5.5”.

Boys’ results (listed by event)

400m dash — Alex Gardner, 4th, 55.23; Caleb Schoessow, 11th, 1:01.89.

100m dash — Gardner, 10th, 12.27; Tyler Carlsen, 29th, 14.17.

200m dash — Gardner, 16th, 25.85; Schoessow, 21st, 27.11; Carlsen, 33rd, 29.65.

1600m run — Koltin Luchterhand, 11th,

6:01.11.

Long jump — Carlsen, 23rd, 14’6.5”. Shot put — Luchterhand, 37th, 21’3.5”. The boys earned five points and finished in 11th place. Other team scores were Stanley-Boyd 171.5, Neillsville 102.5, Owen-Withee 89, McDonell Central 83.5, Cameron 57.5, Spencer 51, Cadott 40.5, Columbus Catholic 16, Thorp 15 and Gilman 12.5.

Granton’s girls earned 10 points, tying with Spencer for 10th place. Other team scores were Cadott 124, Cameron 122, McDonell Central 99.2, Stanley-Boyd 79.2, Gilman 79.2, Owen-Withee 62.2, Neillsville

56, Thorp 17.2 and Columbus Catholic 14.
