Relay team, Zvolena win their events at Wausau West

The Loyal girls track and field team was back in competition again on April 4, taking sixth place at the Wausau West girls invitational. The Greyhounds had several individuals and relay teams place in the top eight to score points for the team.

The girls had three relay teams compete at Wausau. Taking first place overall was the 4x147m relay team of Leah Scherer, Sheila Tellock, Addysen Wolf and Aubre Robida, who completed the race in 1:23.74 for the win. Molly Zvolena, Maci Bogdonovich, Wolf and Tellock ran the 4x400m relay, taking fourth with a time of 5:06.77. Shalisha Buchanan, Leah Scherer, Robida and Bogdonovich ran the one-lap, one-lap, two-lap, three-lap relay, which covered a distance of 1,030 meters. The team finished seventh with a time of 3:02.47.

Individual results for the girls are as follows: Alyssia Zvolena, 1st, high jump, 5’; Addysen Wolf, 2nd, 200m dash, 29.35, 7th, high jump, 4’8”; Sheila Tellock, 3rd, pole vault, 9’, 9th, 200m hurdles, 36.62; Shalisha Buchanan, 5th, shot put, 31’1”; Leah Scherer, 7th, 200m dash, 30.51; Aubre Robida, 7th, 55m dash, 8.09; Molly Zvolena, 7th, triple jump, 29’10’, 9th, long jump, 14’5”, 18th, 200m dash, 33.54; Alexis Meyer, 11th, high jump, 4’4”, 22nd, 400m dash, 1:31.70; Hannah Smith, 13th, shot put, 27’2.75”; Gwen LaMarr, 13th, long jump, 13’10”; Maci Bogdonovich, 18th, 800m run, 3:13.62; Hannah Strey, 19th, 55m hurdles, 12.09; Addison Holm, 19th, 800m run, 3:17.34, 19th, 400m dash, 1:25.15.

The Loyal girls team earned 52.5 points to take sixth place in a field of 16 teams. Taking the top five spots were Wausau West (111.5), Merrill (69), Wittenberg-Birnamwood (68.5), Wausau East (65) and Colby (55).
