Spencer track and field team competes at UW-Stout
The Spencer track and field team competed in its first meet of the season March 21 at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The team faced off against more than 20 teams at the invite, participating to start gaining the experience they will need in the outdoor track season.
Only a few individuals on the boys and girls teams managed to place in the top eight to score points. Kyle Nieman placed the highest as an individual, taking fourth place in the pole vault with his 12' vault. He also took eighth in the 55m hurdles, finishing in 9 seconds flat. In the girls events, Autumn Davis placed seventh in the 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 1:07.85.

The Rockets also had two relay teams compete and place at UW-Stout. The girls 4x400m relay team of Ariana Krueger, Alina Jackson, Rachel Nieman and Zaprina Bulla placed 19th, finishing in 5:27.03. The boys 4x400m relay team, consisting of Levi Anderson, Landon Behselich, Nicolas Johre and Teddy Meyer, finished the race in 4:19 to place 20th.
As a team, the Spencer girls competed in a field of 24 teams. The girls took 24th place overall with two points. Taking the top three spots were Rice Lake (81), Prescott (44.5) and Prairie Farm (42). In the boys' competition, Spencer faced 26 teams, with Spencer tying with Elk Mound for 21st place with six points. The top teams finishing in the boys events were Menomonie (57), Hudson and Prescott, which tied for second with 47 points, and Somerset (39).
