CRASH REPORTS

The following car versus deer accidents were reported: Matthew Logan Lorenz, 21, of Medford, on July 15, at 9:30 p.m., on CTH M, in the town of Hammel; Gerald L. Stahnke, 70, of Athens, on July 22, at 8:02 p.m.; on Lemke Dr., in the town of Goodrich; Jacob Tyler Hilger, 28, of Cornell, on Horn Dr., on July 21, at 8:30 a.m., in the town of Aurora; Calvin L. Marion, 56, of Cadott, on July 17, at 2:38 p.m., on CTH E, in the town of Hammel.

CJ James Olson, 17, of Withee, was traveling eastbound on CTH M, on July 14, at 7:30 a.m., in the town of Grover, when he struck a deer in the roadway. Olson lost control and entered the north ditch. Olson’s vehicle traveled through the ditch and then overturned on its driver’s side upon coming to rest. Olson was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Ashley V. Zettler, 33, of Medford was leaving a parking lot, on S. Eighth St., on July 25, at 1:40 p.m. when she struck a large rock that was well off the travel portion of the parking lot. Damage was done to the side rocker/ rear door/trim of Zettler’s vehicle.

Gerald E. Baughman, 76, of Westboro, was backing up to get into position to enter a parking spot, on July 25, at 8:40 a.m. The hitch of Baughman’s vehicle struck the passenger side corner of the front bumper, causing a dent of a vehicle owned by Rodney F. Dahl, 64, of Stetsonville. No damage was caused to Baughman’s vehicle.

David Allen Schirmer, 60, of Rib Lake, was traveling south through the Kwik Trip parking lot, on July 19, at 2:08 p.m., in the city of Medford, while Karen L Frohling, 82, of Medford, was traveling west and turned south. The front passenger side bumper of Frohling’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Schirmer’s vehicle just behind the front tire. Schirmer continued causing Frohling’s vehicle to scrape down the side. Neither driver was aware of the other vehicle until they made contact.

Kim Marie Janssen, 51, of Neenah, was backing out from a parking stall, on July 22, at 11:09 a.m. and struck a vehicle owned by Jay Glenn Arnette, 77, of Medford, causing damage. Janssen said she did not see Arnette’s vehicle driving through the lot while backing up.

A vehicle owned by Toby Schrock, 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was parked in the driveway of N1517 8th Ave., in the town of Roosevelt, facing west, on July 15, at 8:07 a.m. Drik Paul Verbeten, 70, of Almond, was driving west behind Schrock’s vehicle. Verbeten did not stop hitting the back bumper of Schrock’s vehicle.

Erika M. Jacquez, 42, of Downey California reported a hit and run accident on July 22, at 8:20 p.m., on CTH E, in the town of Hammel. The other vehicle was described as a green truck with female driver as single occupant. The unknown vehicle entered right turn lane before striking the Jacquez’s vehicle. The unknown vehicle appeared to have continued westbound on CTH O.

Berman Lenin Montenegro Gonzales, 18, of Colby, was traveling westbound on County Line Rd., on July 16, at reported time of 4:47 a.m., in the town of Little Black. Gonzales’ vehicle then left the roadway to the north and entered the ditch causing damage to the front end. Gonzales was ultimately arrested for OWI (1st offense). The vehicle was towed from the scene. Gonzales received citations for operating while under the influence and operating without a valid license (1st violation).

Misty Marie Christensen, 27, of Stevens Point, was traveling eastbound on CTH C, on July 14, at 1:08 p.m., in the town of Greenwood, when Christensen’s front tire and wheel fell off of her vehicle, causing her vehicle to stop on the right fog line. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Dustin William Kuechler, 26, of Cornell, was traveling northbound on CTH H, on July 24, at 6 p.m., in the town of Aurora, when he crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane then to the northbound lane and spun out causing Kuechler to strike a mailbox and enter the east ditch. Kuechler’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Kuechler was issued citations for operating without a valid license (2nd within 3 years), failure of operator to notify police of accident, operate motor vehicle without insurance, and possession open intoxicants in vehicle-driver.
