Squad wins conference and regional

Stratford senior Camden Daul was awarded the Marawood South Conference Player of the Year for his outstanding play on the mound and at the plate, in helping the Tigers capture the outright conference championship.
Daul compiled a 6-0 pitching record with two saves in 38 innings pitched during the conference regular season. He pitched five complete games with 55 strikeouts and an impressive low 1.11 earned run average.
He was just as dominating as a hitter this spring. Daul maintained a .393 batting average in conference play with a .538 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage. He tallied 11 hits in 28 at-bats during the 10 conference games, including eight singles and three doubles. He drew nine walks.
Stratford had a 9-1 conference record to win its second straight Marawood South Conference title. Stratfordâs only conference loss was against Edgar, whom the Tigers shared the conference title with last season. Tigers head baseball coach Marshall Lehman was awarded Marawood South Conference Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Daul was an unanimous first team all-Marawood South Conference selection along with Stratford junior Jackson Ormond and freshman Jack Tubbs. Stratford finished the 2022 baseball season with an 18-6 record. The Tigers had a thrilling grand slam walkoff home win against Wittenberg-Birnamwood in the WIAA Division 3 regional championship. Stratford then lost, 5-3, to Oconto in a sectional semifinal in Crivitz. Edgar senior Jordan Bunkelman earned unanimous all-Marawood South Conference first team honors for the third straight season, not including the 2020 season that was cancelled because of COVID- 19. Wildcats senior Ashton Schuett was also a firstteam selection this season.
Marathon sophomores Grant Warren and Tyler Underwood both earned unanimous all-Marawood Conference South first team honors in 2022.
Pitcher Daul of Stratford and first baseman Warren of Marathon were awarded to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association (WBCA) second team All North Central District. Daul will play in the WBCAâs All-Star Classic baseball game for senior players this summer.
Stratford senior Gavin Kirsch and sophomore Brady Schmidt, Edgar senior Everet Brehm and Marathon senior Jaden Koeller were all named second team all-Marawood South Conference.
Tigers junior Johnny Seitz and sophomore Henry Zaleski, Edgar senior Peyton Dahlke and freshman Jase Apfelbeck and Marathon senior Nathan Hanke and sophomore Cooper Hoeksema each received honorable mention all-Marawood South Conference.
North all-conference
Athens senior Cooper Diedrich earned unanimous first team all-Marawood North Conference honors for the second straight season. Bluejay seniors Brooks Kraus and Kody Lepak were also unanimous all-Marawood Conference baseball players in 2022.
Bluejays junior Kyler Ellenbecker was awarded second team all-Marawood North Conference, while junior Nathan Wolf and sophomore Hunter Haehlke received honorable mention all-conference this season.
