Cadott battles wind in attempt to advance

With only the top competitors moving on May 31, from Sectional play at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake, the Cadott team knew everything had to go right. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t get the memo.

“Very tough conditions on Tuesday,” said coach Scott Christenson.

Coming in as the Regional champs, the Hornets looked to make the top spot yet again, but it wasn’t to be. Finishing seventh as a team, with 409 points, the Hornets didn’t qualify to move on, putting an end to their season.

Individually, Cadott’s golfers also fell just short of moving on, with senior Ethan Foldy bringing in the best score, a 98. Junior Peter Weir was next, with 100, and senior Jacob Ackley ended the day carding a 102. Senior Sam Scheidler was behind them, shooting a 109, while senior Sam Gindt came up with a 110.

“The boys really struggled with the wind and did not play well,” said Christenson.
