CRASH REPORTS

Gibson Moses Jim, 28, of Medford was traveling southbound on Hwy 13, on April 13, at 5:45 a.m., in the town of Chelsea near the address of N5541 Hwy 13. Jim advised he had fallen asleep while driving. Jim’s vehicle drifted into the west ditch, where it struck a sign holder and driveway embankment. The vehicle went airborne before coming to rest in the marshy area south of the residence. The vehicle sustained functional front and rear end damage. The driver advised he was uninjured and had been wearing his seatbelt. Jim was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Alan Joseph Neubauer, 59, of Medford, was traveling north on N. Fourth St. on April 16, at 12:34 a.m., in the city of Medford when the Neubauer vehicle deviated from his lane crossing the southbound lane and crashing into a tree on the west side of the street. Based on the scene investigation, Neubauer was arrested for his 4th OWI. The vehicle sustained extensive front end damage and was towed due to disabling damage. Neubauer was issued citations for OWI (4th offense) and failure to keep vehicle under control.

Dorene Anne Gengler, 69, of Medford was backing out of a driveway at 115 Perkins St., on April 14, at 11:38 a.m. Gengler failed to see a legally parked vehicle, owned by Brenda Lee Clark, of Medford, on the opposite side of the street. Gengler’s vehicle struck Clark’s vehicle and caused damage to both vehicles. Clark’s vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the accident.

Steven C. Hotchkiss, 42, of Owen was traveling westbound on Hwy 64, on April 16, at 11:53 a.m., in the town of Medford. Larry Todd Johnson, 59, of Medford, started to do a U-Turn in front of Hotchkiss’ vehicle. Hotchkiss’s vehicle struck Johnson in the passenger side of the vehicle. Hotchkiss’s vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane, and Johnson’s vehicle went into the south ditch, striking a mailbox as he entered the ditch. Johnson stated he did not see Hotchkiss when he went to turn. Hotchkiss’ vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Hotchkiss was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Johnson’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage as well. He was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Kreg Patrick White, 56, of Ogema, was traveling in the left northbound lane on S. 8th St., on April 11, at 4:35 p.m., in the city of Medford. Poetic Jasona Joyanne Zimmerman, 22, of Fifield, was traveling in the right northbound lane on S. 8th St. White attempted to turn into 302 S. 8th St. from the wrong lane. The passenger side of White’s vehicle struck the front driver’s side corner of Zimmerman’s vehicle causing moderate damage to her vehicle and minor damage to White’s vehicle. Looked, but did not see and improper turn were factors in the accident. Zimmerman received a citation for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Pamela Erin Kevilus, 34, of Prentice stated that she was backing out of a stall at the Walmart parking lot on April 19, at 5:13 p.m. and did not see that Alice Phoebe Johnson, 78, of Medford, was also attempting to back out of her stall. Kevilus explained that at the last second she noticed the other vehicle and attempted to get into drive to avoid the crash, but was unsuccessful. Johnson stated that she was backing out of the stall and did not notice that Kevilus was backing up. Johnson also explained that she was using her backup camera and saw that the area behind her was clear, so she proceeded to back up. Both vehicles sustained functional damage.

Rodney James Hempel, 61, of Medford, stated that he was northbound in the left lane of the roundabout on Hwy 13, in the city of Medford, heading towards Kwik Trip, on April 18, at 2:53 p.m. He had observed the vehicle that was driven by Arlene Ann Penning, 82, of Westboro, stopped near the yield on Ann’s Way. Hempel continued north through the roundabout and remained in the left lane the entire time he was traveling through the roundabout. Hempel said that Penning’s Jeep struck his vehicle on the passenger side. Penning stated that she did not see the other car until it was right in front of her and then the accident happened. Both vehicles sustained functional damage as a result of the crash. Penning was issued a citation for failing to yield a right of way.

The following car vs. deer accidents were reported: Lisa Jane Harrenstein, 38, of Rib Lake, on April 12, at 8:05 p.m., on CTH C, in the town of Browning; Alan S. Willison, 31, of Owen, on April 11, at 9:34 p.m., on CTH O, in the town of Holway; Nouchee Lor, 27, of Wausau, on April 11, at 9:13 p.m., on CTH C, in the town of Deer Creek; Tyler Milton Turner, 70, of Medford, on April 17, at 5:35 a.m., on Castle Rd., in the town of Medford; Emma Margaret Brost, 18, of Medford, on April 16, at 8:35 p.m., on Hwy 64, in the town of Medford; Samuel Adam Blasel, 27, of Medford, on April 14, at 4:45 a.m., on Hwy 64, in the town of Goodrich.
