Running at Rosholt

Greyhound, Rocket track teams compete at meet

The Loyal and Spencer track and field teams faced a large field of competition on April 1 when the teams traveled to Rosholt to participate in the Badger Invitational. Both teams were able to score some points despite facing nearly 30 teams at the invite.

The Greyhound girls team had the best performance overall at Rosholt, with several finishes in the top eight. The 4x200m relay team took first place, with Leah Scherer, Sheila Tellock, Alyssia Zvolena and Aubre Robida running the course in 1:53.26. The team’s 4x400m relay team, made up of Abrial Kubista, Alyssia Zvolena, Lisa Steffens and Sheila Tellock, took fourth place, running a 4:38.26.

Individual results for the Loyal girls are as follows: Abrial Kubista, 3rd, triple jump, 32’10.5”; Aubre Robida, 4th, 60m dash, 8.43; Sheila Tellock, 7th, pole vault, 7’; Autumn Zvolena, 8th, high jump, 4’5”; Shalisha Buchanan, 9th, shot put, 30’11.75”; Leah Scherer, 13th, long jump, 14’2.5”; Lisa Steffens, 15th, long jump, 14’1”; Alexis Meyer, 17th, high jump, 4’; Noelle Teschner, 18th, 400m dash, 1:13.02; Haven Peroshek, 21st, shot put, 27’11.25”; Molly Zvolena, 22nd, triple jump, 28’3.5”, 26th, 400m dash, 1:16.35; Hannah Smith, 24th, shot put, 27’6.25”l Maci Bogdonovich, 29th, 800m run, 3:05.31; Alexis Brecht, 33rd, 800m run, 3:15.64.

The Loyal boys had one relay team participate in events in Rosholt. The 4x400m relay was completed by Connor Genteman, Bo Bogdonovich, Ayden Collins and Parker Smith in 4:25.87 to take 18th place.

Individual results for the Loyal boys are as follows: Connor Genteman, 5th, 800m run, 2:15.75, 8th, 1600m run, 5:08.73; Parker Smith, 18th, 400m dash, 1:00.14; Bo Bogdonovich, 30th, 400m dash, 1:02.38, 34th, 800m run, 2:40.85, 38th, long jump, 14’7.25”; Peyton Tsai, 39th, long jump, 14’6.25”; Preston Farmer, 44th, shot put, 31’.5”; Jaden Smith, 48th, shot put, 30’7”; Devon Roehl, 72nd, shot put, 24’1.5”; Peyton Farmer, 75th, shot put, 22’10.5”.

The Spencer girls had one first-place finisher on their team. Leah Zastrow returned to the pole vault with early success this season, taking the win with a vault of 12’. For relays, Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Alessio, Theresa Knecht and Daniella Guzman ran the 4x200m , taking 26th with a time of 2:21.49.

Other individual results for the Spencer girls are as follows: Emily Wehrman, 14th, 800m run, 2:55.54, 17th, 1600m run, 6:49.16; Jadyn Zschernitz, 36th, shot put, 24’5”; Alyssa Kobs, 38th, shot put, 23’11.5”; Caitlin Clark, 39th, long jump, 11’7.5”; Elisha Blanchard, 42nd, shot put, 23’.75”; Aurora Porcu, 45th, 400m dash, 1:33.56; Hannah Reckner, 48th, 400m dash, 5:49.11; Laycee Glover, 49th, 400m dash, 6:02.82.

The Spencer boys had two relay teams at the invite on April 1. Niklas Pohl, Will Gorst, Levi Anderson and Alex Baumgarten ran the 4x200m relay, finishing in 12th with a time of 1:49.90. Noah Schultz, Malachai Anderson, Alex Baumgarten and Kaizer Eickleberry ran the 4x400m relay, taking 16th with their time of 4:08.90.

Individual results for the Spencer boys are as follows: Kyle Nieman, 6th, pole vault, 10’6”, 8th, 60m hurdles,

10.28; Alex Baumgarten, 8th, pole vault, 9’6”; Noah Schultz,

13th, 400m dash, 58.53; Levi Anderson, 18th, high jump, 5’,

19th, 400m dash, 1:00.38; Malachai Anderson, 23rd, 800m run, 2:30.23; Landon Behselich, 28th, 400m dash, 1:01.90; Tim Yorgey, 36th, 1600m run, 5:39,82; Devyn Schmidt, 39th, 800m run, 3:18.73, 41st, 1600m run, 7:16.93; Carter Griepentrog,

70th, shot put, 25’1.5”.

A total of 28 teams competed in the girls events at the Rosholt invite. From among those teams, the Spencer girls took 17th with 10 points and the Loyal girls finished eighth with 26.375 points. Dodgeland won the girls invite with

53.75 points. For the boys, 27 total teams competed, with the Spencer and Loyal boys tying for 23rd place with five points each. New London won the boys invite with 57 points.
