A small crew from Medford competed Friday at UW-Stout’s Northern Badger Large School Indoor Classic with four of those athletes scoring points for the Raiders.

Senior Joe Sullivan was the only scorer on the boys side, but he brought home a victory in the 3,200-meter run. In his first distance race of the season, Sullivan finished in 10:30.37 to comfortably finish ahead of New Richmond’s Konrad Knutson (10:52.76), PJ Lasota of Eastview, Minn. (11:00.07) and Logan McCoy (11:00.27) of Menomonie.

Those 10 points put Medford in a three-way tie for 12th place out of 18 scoring teams with Eau Claire North and Tomah. Rochester Mayo, Minn. won the meet with 70.5 points, just ahead of Menomonie (65) and La Crosse Logan (60.5).

Zach Rudolph placed 17th in the 800-meter run at 2:17.52, while Anthony Seidel was 34th at 2:30.24. Jake Seifert was 19th in the shot put with a throw of 38-7, while Logan Kawa was 28th at 33-8.75. Both throws were season bests. The 1,600-meter relay team of Rudolph, Cory Lindahl, Jose Herrera and Losiewicz also made the top 15, placing 13th out of 17 teams at 4:04.7. River Falls won the event in 3:40.22.
