Stratford dismantled Chequamegon, 73-13, on Thursday at home.
Kraus led the Tigers with 19 points and junior guard Lexie Christopherson added 14. Berg and freshman Kalyn Schueller chipped in 10 points apiece. Chequamegon has only one win this season.
‘Jays lose pair of games
The Athens varsity girls basketball team has lost two straight games against tough opponents Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, 64-38, Thursday on the road and against Phillips, 81-50, on Tuesday at home.
Senior McKennzie Schug led Athens with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the road defeat to Assumption. Sophomores Addison Lavicka and Jazelle Hartwig added eight points each. Sophomore Sophia Coker paced the Bluejays with four steals and two blocks.
Athens is in second place behind Phillips in the Marawood North Conference with a 9-4 record and is 16-4 overall this season.
Marathon wins games
The Marathon varsity girls basketball team beat Abbotsford, 46-40, at home on Thursday and Wausau Newman, 45-35, on the road Tuesday.
Senior guard Allison Wokatsch led Marathon with 14 points against Abbotsford while senior Jada Prihoda added 12 and junior Kali Prihoda 10. Junior Ashley Phatkitthong paced the Red Raiders with nine rebounds and she tied for the team lead in assists with Kali Prihoda with four apiece. Jada Prihoda led the squad with four steals.
Wokatsch led Marathon with 24 points against Newman while Kali Prihoda had 10. Jada Prihoda paced the team with eight rebounds and Phakitthong with four assists.
Marathon improves its record to 9-4 in the Marawood South Conference and 12-8 overall this season.
