Hinderbinder ski races set for Jan. 15
Forest Springs’ 2022 Hinderbinder ski races will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15 with the first races set to start at 10 a.m.
Organizers have high hopes for a successful event after putting plenty of work into the trails, Pisten Bully grooming, which started last year, and changes at the start and finish to make the race more spectator friendly.
Forest Springs’ Norm Hoyt said heading into this week the Forest Springs ski trails were in excellent shape and, barring any snowfall late in the week, they should remain that way, providing a smooth, fast track for the racers.
All proceeds from the race will go toward Forest Springs’ camper scholarship fund, which makes it possible for kids to come to summer and winter camp programs regardless of their abilities to pay.
The 25K skate and classic races will kick things off at 10 a.m., followed by the starts of the 12.5K skate and classic races at 10:15 a.m. The 7.5K high school race will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 4K middle school race at 10:45 a.m.
While same-day registration is welcome, those who plan to ski are asked to pre-register if possible. Registration will close at 200 adult participants. Early registrations showed the potential for a high number of high school and middle school teams to be in attendance.
