Two car collision

CRASH REPORTS

Julie Marie Goldschmidt, 46, of Dorchester was traveling southbound on 7th St., in the city of Medford, on December 10, at 7:51 a.m. Mark Alan Baxter, 44, of Dorchester, was heading eastbound on Clark St. Baxter went through the stop sign and struck Goldschmidt’s vehicle. Goldschmidt’s vehicle sustained functional damage to both the front and rear passenger corners of the vehicle. Goldschmidt was not injured. Baxter claimed he had coasted towards the intersection but didn’t actively brake. He stated he looked right and then left when approaching the intersection and when he noticed the other vehicle tried to hit the brakes but his vehicle began to slide into the intersection, striking Goldschmidt’s vehicle. Goldschmidt’s vehicle was towed from the scene. A citation for operating a vehicle without insurance was issued to Baxter.

Bruce Ray Brunner, 73, of Medford, was pulling into a parking spot in the Aspirus parking lot, on December 10, at 6:16 a.m., in the city of Medford. Brunner’s foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator, causing him to drive over the curb, down the median into another vehicle. Brunner’s car sustained cosmetic damage to the front bumper and the driver was wearing a seat belt and had no injuries. The second car, owned by Aspirus Medford Hospital and Clinics, was unoccupied, sustained functional damage to the front driver corner.

Nicole Maria Stamp, 46, of Medford, was traveling southbound on N. 8th St., on December 7, at 10:25 a.m., in the city of Medford, at the roundabout. Stamp turned right to enter the roundabout, while Jolene Mae Gumz, 42, of Dorchester, was still negotiating the roundabout. Stamp’s vehicle hit Gumz’s vehicle, causing a large dent in the door of Stamp’s car. Minor damage was done to the front side passenger corner of Gumz’s vehicle. A citation was issued to Stamp for failure to yield right of way in a roundabout.

Debra A. Fehlhaber, 62, of Medford, was backing out in the Medford Plaza parking lot, on December 6, at 11:39 a.m., in the city of Medford. Fehlhaber was trying to back out of a parking lot space and struck Everett Ellsworth Christopherson, 75, of Athens, who was driving in the parking lot lane. Fehlhaber stated that her backup sensor did not go off and she did not see the vehicle when she was backing up. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries. Christopherson sustained minor damage affecting the passenger rear door.

Sara Marie Tvedt, 43, of Medford, was heading eastbound on Hwy 64, on December 10, at 3:54 p.m. when another vehicle pulled out in front of her causing her to swerve to avoid a collision. Tvedt went into the Northside ditch, coming in contact with a mailbox owned by Werner Sales, 735 W. Broadway Ave., Medford. The owner did not report any damage.

Oswaldo Antonio Rios Valesquez, 58, of Gilman, was heading southbound on Hwy 73, in the town of Cleveland, on December 5, at 11:06 a.m. when he skidded out of control due to wet, icy, slushy roads, and came to rest on its side in the east ditch. Citations for operating without a valid license (1st violation), and operating a motor vehicle without insurance were issued. Vehicle was towed from the scene.

Cody Albert Danen, 19, of Eau Claire, was traveling east on Perkinstown Ave., in the town of Hammel, on December 5, at 9:51 a.m. Danen was unable to turn on the curve due to the weather conditions. Danen went into the east side of the ditch, hitting a directional sign.

David M. Mertens, 45, of Eldorado, was traveling westbound on Babbit Ave., in the town of Aurora, on December 5, at 6:19 a.m. Mertens slid through the intersection, due to wet, icy road conditions and entered the west ditch, striking a power pole. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Morgan Rose Huegli, 17, of Withee, was traveling eastbound on CTH O, in the town of Little Black, on December 3, at 7:27 a.m. Due to snowy, wet and icy road conditions, Huegli skidded into the south ditch, and came to rest after striking trees. Speed too fast for conditions was listed in the accident report as a contributing factor.

Eric Scott Scheithauer, 17, of Medford, was traveling northbound on CTH E, in the town of Hammel, on December 11, at 8 p.m. when he lost control due to the icy road conditions. Scheithauer entered the west ditch and overturned coming to rest on its wheels facing a north easterly direction. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Kyle Richard Swiatnicki, 22, of Plover, was traveling westbound on South St., in the town of Chelsea, on December 9, at 1:10 p.m. Swiatnicki was about to make a curve to the right, but lost control on the snow covered road and struck the guardrail. He entered the ditch, and his vehicle had to be towed.

John Edward Heser, 63, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Apple Ave., in the town of Deer Creek, on December 6, at 2:35 p.m. Heser drove over a snow drift in the roadway, which caused the vehicle to skid sideways across the intersection at Robin Drive. Heser entered the southeastern ditch, and rolled where it came to rest on the tires. Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured in the crash. The vehicle was removed from the scene by the operator’s son, who arrived on the scene.

Drew Allen Hickman, 31, of Dorchester, was traveling northbound on Gibson Dr., in the town of Little Black, on December 6, at 1:14 p.m. Hickman skidded off the road, struck a mailbox and an intersection sign, rolled and came to rest in the west ditch. Citations for operating without a valid license (1st violation), and operating a motor vehicle without insurance were issued. Vehicle was towed from the scene.

Alberto Arquimides Mayrena Plalacios, 34, of Reedsberg, was traveling northbound on Hooker Rd., in the town of Pershing, on December 5, at 12 p.m. Due to slippery road conditions, the driver went around a curve and slid into the ditch. Plalacios was unable to remove his car from the scene, so he was picked up from the scene. While he was gone, he was called in at 4:48 p.m., saying that the car was on fire. It was unclear how the fire started. The fire was put out and the vehicle was later towed due to disabling damage.

The following car vs. deer accidents were reported: Melissa Joy Pilgrim, 46, of Medford, on December 6, at 6:55 a.m., on Crane Dr., in the town of Medford; Bradley Floyd Rodman, 36, of Medford, on December 5, at 6:33 p.m., on CTH M, in the town of Cleveland; Tracy Lynn Cota, 35, of Rib Lake, on December 9, apt 5:17 a.m., on Hwy 102, in the town of Westboro; Mary Edith Thorgerson, 73, of Sheldon, on December 8, at 5:20 p.m., on Buckhorn Ave., in the town of Jump River; Daniel Luis Ruiz, 39, of Westboro, on December 7, at 4:25 a.m., on Hwy 13, in the Town of Medford.
