Medford Area Senior High award winners for 2021 spring season
Coaches of the Medford Raiders’ spring sports teams presented awards to student-athletes in the baseball, golf, girls soccer, softball, boys tennis and boys and girls track and field programs:
Baseball
Head coach Justin Hraby named Caleb Guden the Most Valuable Player, Blaine Seidl winner of the Best Defense award and Joe Gierl winner of the Raider Award. Nate Retterath and Logan Baumgartner were named the co-Most Improved Players, while Guden and Spike Alexander were named the co-Best Pitchers. Head coach Tanya Tessmann named Jasmine Wiitala the Most Valuable Player and Goal of the Season Award winner. Tessmann named Lydia Pernsteiner the Offensive Player of the Year, Sophia Brunner the Defensive Player of the Year and Kelsey Jascor the Surprise Player of the Year. JV award winners included Emma Wegerer and Maddie Eckert for Positive Attitude, Hailey Fisher and Alexis Szydel for Team Talker, Autumn Sherman and Taylor Tyznik for Most Improved and Lydia Way for Never Quits.
