Six to attend State Track Meet
When the WIAA State Track and Field Meet commences this week, there will be several local athletes among the large pool of competitors hoping to make their mark at the highest level. Six athletes from Loyal, Spencer and Greenwood will represent their teams at the state meet after qualifying at the WIAA Division 3 Sectional held in Boscobel on June 17.
The athletes that qualified for the State meet to be held from June 24-26 will compete on the first day of the meet in the Division 3 round at the Veterans Memorial Stadium at UW-La Crosse.
From Loyal, there will be three athletes competing at State. Margaret Reis will represent the Greyhounds in the pole vault, vaulting to a height of 8’6” in that event at Boscobel to take fourth. Aubre Robida took third place in the 100m dash with a time of 13.07 at Sectionals, finishing just one millisecond ahead of her teammate, Savannah Schley, who also qualified for State in the 100m dash (13.08) with her fourth-place finish.
