Loyal, Spencer track and field teams compete at Cadott Invitational
The Loyal girls track team is continuing their success on the field with another top finish. The team took second place overall at Cadott on May 14 with the help of first place finishes by a couple individuals and relay teams.
The Greyhound girls had two relay teams compete at Cadott and both of them took first place. Abrial Kubista, Aubre Robida, Sheila Tellock and Leah Scherer ran both the 4X200m relay and the 4X100m relay. The 4X200m relay was completed in 1:56.95 and the 4X100m relay was ran in 54.17.
Individual results for the Loyal girls are as follows: Savannah Schley, 1st, 200m dash, 27.23, 1st, 400m dash, 1:00.58, 2nd, 100m dash, 13.71; Abrial Kubista, 1st, triple jump, 30’2.75”, 5th, 100m hurdles, 20.64, 5th, 300m hurdles, 59.91; Margaret Reis, 2nd, pole vault, 9’6”; Sheila Tellock, 3rd, pole vault, 9’; Leah Scherer, 3rd, 100m hurdles, 19.97, 7th, long jump, 13’; Alyssia Zvolena, 3rd, high jump, 4’8”, 8th, 200m dash, 29.79; Haven Peroshek, 4th, shot put, 28’9.25”, 5th, discus, 77’9”; Shalisha Buchanan, 5th, shot put, 27’1”, 7th, discus, 77’1”; Aubre Robida, 6th, 100m dash, 14.20; Maci Bogdonovich, 7th, 1600m run, 6:56.71; Devani Hinkelmann, 8th, discus, 77’1”; Hannah Smith, 8th, shot put, 25’11”; Ella Rand, 8th, pole vault, 6’.
The Loyal boys also scored points at Cadott, with a smaller pool of individuals and relays scoring points. The 4X100m relay team of David Nikolai, Kaden Olson, Jaden Ruggles and Sully Hanson ran a 48.76 which put them in second place.
Individual results for the Greyhound boys are as follows: Connor Genteman, 2nd, 3200m run, 11:22.96, 2nd, 1600m run, 5:07.76, 3rd, 800m run, 2:13.36; Seth Genteman, 2nd, 800m run, 2:12.36, 3rd, 1600m run, 5:22.80; Sully Hanson, 6th, 100m dash, 12.53; Kaden Olson, 7th, 110m hurdles, 21.45.
The Spencer track team also competed at Cadott, with both the boys and girls placing seventh overall. Two relay teams competed for the Rocket girls, with the 4X200m relay team (2:07.47) of Alizabelle Carman, Bristol Engevold, Martina Miradoli and Lydia Nieman placing second and the 4X100m relay team (Lydia Nieman, Haylee Hopperdietzel, Bristol Engevold, Faith Miller) taking fourth with a time of 58.10.
Individually, two athletes placed in the top eight for the girls. Leah Zastrow earned points in all four of the events she competed in, taking first place in the 100m hurdles (17.51), and in the pole vault (10’6”) and taking third in the 300m hurdles (54.18) and eighth in the 100m dash (14.47). Emily Wehrman placed in two events, taking fourth place in the 1600m run (6:27.37) and eighth in the 800m run (2:54.14).
Two relay teams also competed for the Spencer boys. Taking third place was the 4X100m relay team (48.78) of Connor Clark, Will Gorst, Kaizer Eickleberry and Elliott Bauer while the 4X200m relay, completed by Landon Behselich, Raphael Gehring, Kyle Nieman and Alexander Baumgarten, took fifth place with a time of 1:57.43.
Individual results for the Spencer boys are as follows: Cameron Nieman, 2nd, high jump, 5’6”, 6th, 800m run, 2:23.43; Connor Clark, 3rd, pole vault, 8’6”; Alexander Baumgarten, 3rd, pole vault, 8’6”; Elliott Bauer, 4th, 100m dash, 12.40, 5th, 200m dash, 24.49; Kaizer Eickleberry, 4th, 300m hurdles, 48.82; Kyle Nieman, 7th, pole vault, 8’.
As a team, the Loyal girls earned 118 points to take second place behind Fall Creek, who won the invite with 122.5 points. Other teams competing at Cadott were Mc-Donell Central (92), Cadott (79), Stanley-Boyd (75), Gilman (57.5), Spencer, which earned 46 points for seventh, Eau Claire Regis (43) and Thorp (8).
For the boys, Spencer took seventh place with 48 points and Loyal placed ahead of them in sixth place with 50 points. Other teams placing were Gilman (29.5), McDonell (80.5), Cadott (83.5), Eau Claire Regis (87), Stanley-Boyd (132) and Fall Creek (162.5).
