Three generations of ladies in the Treankler family, which resides in the village of Hewitt southeast of Marshfield, are currently on a bowling team in the Edwin Memorial Lanes (EML) Tuesday night adult league in Rozellville.

Grandmother Bev Treankler, 78, bowls on the same team with her daughter, Connie Treankler-Pretsch, and her granddaughter, Jordan Pretsch. Bev Treankler is a 1960 graduate of Stratford High School but her daughter and granddaughter both graduated from Marshfi eld High School.

Bev Treankler has been bowling for 62 years. She bowled with her late mother, Caroline Weichelt, when the bowling alley in Rozellville was located in the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church basement. Now she is taking advantage of an opportunity to bowl with her daughter and granddaughter on the same team.

“I’ll keep bowling as long as they let me, and it’s nice my granddaughter is on my team to help pick up my slack,” Bev Treankler joked.

Bev Treankler transitioned from bowling in the Catholic church basement to EML when Butch Spindler first opened it in 1973. Doug Altmann now owns EML, and he’s subbing as the Treankler family’s fourth person on its bowling team.

Connie Treankler-Pretsch, 56, started bowling at EML when she was 12 or 13 years old, and she bowled with her mother, Bev Treankler, and late grandmother, Caroline Weichelt. Jordan Pretsch, 19, began bowling at EML when she was 13 years old and this is the first year she’s bowled with her mother and grandmother on the same team.

“My dream of bowling with my mother and grandmother has come true; I’ve been wanting this to happen for my entire life,” Jordan Pretsch said.

The three generations of Treankler family women hope they can keep bowling together on the same team in league play for many more years. They are sure going to make the most out of their unique opportunity to spend quality family time together at the bowling lanes.
