Norman A. Becker, 61, Colby, and Kenneth F. Berger, 85, Medford, were involved in an accident on July 20 at 1:43 p.m. at the intersection of Crane Drive and CTH O in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Becker vehicle was westbound on CTH O. The Berger vehicle was southbound on Crane Drive and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with CTH O. The Berger vehicle proceeded to make a left turn onto CTH O and was struck by the Becker vehicle. The Becker vehicle sustained minor damage to the left front corner. The Berger vehicle sustained minor damage to the left side rear. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Berger was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failing to yield while making a left turn.
David L. Frey, 65, Stetsonville, and Brooks C. Kraus, 16, Athens, were involved in an accident on July 19 at 3:45 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Little Black. According to the accident report, the Frey vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13 when it slowed and came to a stopped in traffi c with its turn signal on waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway at N492 Hwy 13 and was struck from behind by the Kraus vehicle. The Kraus vehicle then entered the east ditch along Hwy 13 before coming to a stop. Kraus stated he did not see the Frey vehicle slowing until just before the collision and admitted taking his attention off of the roadway just prior to the accident. The Frey vehicle sustained damage to the right side rear, right side corner and rear. The Kraus vehicle sustained disabling damage to the left side front, left front corner and front and was towed from the scene. Operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner; swerved or avoided due to wind, slippery surface, motor vehicle, object or non-motorist in the roadway; and looking away from the task by Kraus were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued a citation for inattentive driving.
Benjamin J. Grupstra, 35, Medford, and vehicles owned by Nicholas D. Haines, Colby, and Tommy G. Fifield, Medford, were involved in an accident on August 1 at 4:50 p.m. on South Second Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, both the Haines and Fifield vehicles were legally-parked and unoccupied on South Second Street. The Grupstra vehicle was southbound on South Second Street when it struck the Haines vehicle. The impact of the collision pushed the Haines vehicle forward into the Fifield vehicle. The Grupstra vehicle sustained damage to the right front corner, right side front and front. The Haines vehicle sustained damage to the rear, left rear corner and front. The Fifield vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear. Looking away from the task by Grupstra was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failure of operator to notify police of an accident.
Jonathan P. Gebhardt, 45, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Kenneth W. David, Withee, were involved in a hit-and-run accident on July 29 at 4:45 p.m. in a parking lot at 649 Hwy 13 in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Gebhardt vehicle was backing out of a parking space when it struck the legally-parked and unoccupied David vehicle, causing minor damage to the left side rear. Gebhardt exited his vehicle, looked at the damage caused when he struck the David vehicle, returned to his vehicle and left the scene. Unsafe backing by Gebhardt was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle.
