Superintendent’s Corner:

As we move through spring, our schools are alive with activity and opportunity.
With the spring election now behind us, I want to thank everyone who came out to vote. We congratulate our returning School Board members on their re-election. Their leadership and commitment help us focus on what’s best for our students, staff, and community. We appreciate their continued service and collaboration.
In the classroom, our students are hard at work. We are proud to share that several students are advancing to the National History Day State regional finals. National History Day is a competition, and through it, students learn valuable research skills that deepen students’ understanding of the past. This year’s theme is “Rights & Responsibilities in History.” Congratulations to our finalists and to all who participat-ed— this achievement reflects the strength of our academic programs and the support of our teachers and families.
Meanwhile, our high school agriculture students continue a favorite tradition—tapping trees in the school forest! They collect and boil down the sap, creating syrup while inviting fourth graders to learn alongside them, culminating in a wellearned pancake feast.
Another meaningful connection between high school and elementary students happens every Friday through our Big Buddy-Little Buddy program. Juniors and seniors are paired with our youngest students, doing activities while building relationships that extend beyond the classroom. These friendships are cherished by both groups and serve as a reminder to our older students of the responsibility that comes with being a role model. With graduation just around the corner, planning is underway to celebrate our seniors and their achievements. This is a time of excitement, reflection, and new beginnings as we prepare to send another class off into the world.
And while the regular school year will end in early June, the summer is full of school activities, too! Nearly 450 students are expected to participate in our summer school programs, a testament to our community’s commitment to year-round learning and enrichment.
At the same time, hiring and interviewing are in full swing to ensure we bring in the best educators for our students. Thoughtful hiring decisions now will shape the future of our schools and enhance student experiences for years to come.
These moments—big and small—highlight the incredible work happening in our schools. Thank you for your continued support in making these opportunities possible for our students!
