Edgar Class of 1964 gathers for 60th reunion

The 60th class reunion of the Edgar High School Class of 1964 was held on Saturday, Sept. 21 The festivities began with a gathering at the farm of Bernie and Erv Radke, Rib Falls.

Guests enjoyed the classic cars and beautiful flower gardens. As the rains came, the group proceeded to the Marathon Sports Center in Marathon for socializing. A total of 22 class members and eight guests were present.

Before dinner, an invocation was read by Judy Baeseman, who also mentioned the deceased class members: Gerry and Pat (Burish) Beidel, Tom Burke, Bob Borchardt, Ron Grosskruetz, Vicki (Kropidowski) Lemmer, Shirley (Jacob) Wurz, Dennis Mueller, Bob Palmer, Tom Sommers, Don Senoraske, Terry Szymanski, Bob Wirkus, Mary Kay Wisniewski and Donald Zimmerman. Pictures were on display of these departed members.

A note from Joyce (Wulk) Louviere was also on display to share with class members. After a delicious dinner, two couples were recognized for their 60th wedding anniversaries this past summer: Karen and Mark Krall and Charlene and Adrian Michlig.

Glen Krebsbach was recognized for being a member of the Edgar VFW for over 50 years.

Darlene Rajek shared special gifts for all present, creating lots of excitement to see what she was giving.

Judy Baeseman’s daughter, Amy, was the hostess for the evening, making sure the guests were all served well. Cake and ice cream followed the dinner.

Judy’s other daughter, Jenny Baeseman, made 60th class reunion name tags and souvenir keepsakes for all class members present. Members could take home buckets of flowers from the Radke’s, which were used as table decorations.

Because the group is aging, members decided to meet in a few years at the noon hour, instead of driving at night, setting the date for whomever can attend. Members agreed they had a good class, with many happy memories and lifelong friendships. Members prayed for continued guidance on the rest of life’s journey with love, laughter, truth and peace.

Committee members were Bernie Radke, Darlen Rajek and Judy Baeseman.
