Strategic Plan Pillar #3: Community Partnerships
In our last article, we focused on the second pillar of our strategic plan, Developing and Retaining Staff. This article will highlight our third pillar, Community Partnerships. According to a summer 2022 survey, 53 perent of the community, school board, district leadership team, and school staff identified this pillar as crucial to our success.
Community Partnerships
Our focus on creating community partnerships: We aim to cultivate strong community partnerships and provide a wide array of opportunities to ensure our students are career and college-ready through both local and global networking opportunities.
To achieve this goal, we have outlined several action steps:
■ Establish a community engagement team: This team will actively seek and foster partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.
■ Develop a comprehensive database of community resources: This database will include businesses, professional networks, and higher education institutions, offering a range of career and college opportunities for our students.
■ Create internship and apprenticeship programs: Collaborating with local businesses, we will provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to real-world work environments.
■ Establish partnerships with universities and colleges: These partnerships will offer dual enrollment programs, allowing high school students to earn college credits while still in school.
■ Incorporate service learning opportunities: We will encourage students to participate in community service projects, fostering a sense of civic responsibility.
■ Maintain an online resource center: This platform will consolidate information on scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities, ensuring equitable access to college and career resources.
We are very proud of the progress we have made with our Community Partnerships pillar. Our students benefit from a variety of field trips and volunteer opportunities with our community partners. They gain job experience through local partnerships and have access to numerous college classes within our building, utilizing local college and technical education curricula.
Our next article will focus on Pillar of Success #4: Communication Excellence.
