His footprints will be placed in the new Stratford High School track

The Stratford Board of Education on Monday passed a resolution declaring June 6, 2022, as Scott Winch Day in the School District of Stratford. The resolution recognizes Winch, who is retiring at the end of this month, for his 18 years as Stratford schools superintendent.

School board clerk Kitty Guyer read the resolution out loud to the large crowd of people consisting of former school board members and school district employees, along with Winch’s wife and their two children. Winch began working as Stratford schools superintendent on July 1, 2004. Guyer noted in the resolution his 18 years as Stratford schools superintendent is four times as long as the average superintendent works in a Wisconsin school district.

School board president Chris Dickinson gave Winch, on behalf of the entire school board, a picture frame with the resolution declaring June 6, 2022, as Scott Winch Day in the School District of Stratford. School board members planned to sign the resolution located inside the glass picture frame.

Dickinson also gave Winch a WASB award given to people who have served in the school district, a card that gives Winch and one guest a lifetime of passes into Stratford athletic events and a wood sign that says “Winch family” on it along with four birds.

School board member Dustin Skaya gave Winch something that brought him to tears. Dustin Skaya gave Winch a glass pictured frame from Fisher Tracks, the general contractor for Stratford’s track/football field project, stating Winch’s footprints will be placed on the new track where he always stands to watch Tigers football games.
